Hashed and its subsidiary ShardLab said on Sept. 14 that they will hold Collectible Con, South Korea’s first collectibles event, with The Concept Labs, a unit of Thailand’s CP Group.
Collectible Con is an interactive event where collectors can view and trade a range of collectibles, including trading card games, or TCGs, while meeting other enthusiasts.
The event will be held on Oct. 2 and Oct. 3 at Stage X Seongsu Chabot in Seoul. It will run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free, and visitors can enter using a QR code issued after advance registration on the official website.
More than 50 vendors will participate, offering TCG cards from Pokemon, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic: The Gathering and Disney Lorcana, along with sports cards, designer toys, animation merchandise and artwork. Domestic and overseas collectors, as well as international brands, distributors, artists and creators, are also expected to take part.
Visitors will be able to inspect and trade rare single cards, unopened vintage products, graded cards and limited-edition items on site. The event will also include live pack openings, card grading and authentication services, and a trading area where collectors can exchange items from their own collections. Eight panel discussions and talks are scheduled on collectibles market trends and card grading, storage and trading.
This will be the first Collectible Con held in South Korea. The inaugural event, held in Bangkok in May, drew about 4,000 visitors. Hashed said it selected Seoul as the second host city as the country’s collectibles market grows rapidly.
“The Korean collectibles market has grown rapidly, but collector activity has centered on online channels, limiting opportunities for in-person interaction,” Tammarat Chusat, co-founder of The Concept Labs, said. “Through this event, we want to give collectors a chance to meet in person, explore a wide range of collectibles and trade them.”
