BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity has delayed Episode 49 and Episode 50 to October 2026 in order to “improve quality” as the anime approaches its climax. The anime previously revised the streaming schedule for numerous platforms in Japan.
Episode 49 (Episode 9 of The Calamity) will now air on TV Tokyo on October 19, followed by BS TV Tokyo on October 20. Streaming on various platforms will begin on October 20 as well. Episode 50 (Episode 10 of The Calamity) will follow on TV Tokyo a week later on October 26and BS TV Tokyo on October 27.

Until Episode 49 resumes the main story, TV Tokyo will air BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War “Climax Selection” episodes on September 19, September 26, October 5 and October 12. The feature episodes include:
- September 19 – Episode 7 “BORN IN THE DARK”
- September 26 – Episode 28 “KILL THE KING”
- October 5 – Episode 46 “THE END”
- October 12 – Episode 48 “THE END TWO WORLD”

The production committee said the schedule was changed to allow additional quality improvements heading into the climax and to deliver the remaining episodes in the <a href="https://comicvibe.com/10-best-tv-shows-about-pirates-ranked/” title=”10 Best TV Shows About Pirates, Ranked”>best possible form. The staff also apologized to viewers for the wait and said production will continue toward the conclusion of the BLEACH anime.
Created by Tite Kubo, BLEACH was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2001 to 2016 and concluded with 74 volumes. The manga has exceeded 130 million copies in circulation worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time.
The original anime adaptation aired from 2004 to 2012 and received four theatrical films. The franchise returned in 2022 with BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War, adapting the manga’s final arc. Its final part (Part 4) is set to release in July. Tite Kubo has confirmed it will include even more original material than the previous parts, expanding the manga’s final battles.
On a related note, BLEACH: Mirrors High opened pre-registrations last month, with the game set to launch in 2026.
