The countdown to the 78th Emmy Awards has begun, with television’s biggest stars getting ready for one of the most anticipated nights of the year. For viewers in India, the awards ceremony will stream exclusively on JioHotstar, and this year’s host Mariska Hargitay has a special message for Indian fans.
Ahead of the ceremony, Hargitay appeared in a special video addressing viewers in India and urging them to tune in to the Emmys. She said, “Namaste India, don’t miss television’s biggest night. 78th Emmy Awards, streaming live only on JioHotstar.”
The 78th Emmy Awards will take place in the US on September 14, 2026.
Due to the time difference, viewers in India will be able to catch the live event in the early hours of September 15. The red carpet will begin streaming at 4:30 AM IST, followed by the main awards ceremony at 5:30 AM IST.

Other top shows that are also competing for Emmy nominations include DTF St. Louis with 17 nominations, The Bear and All Her Fault with 15 nominations each.
Gilded Age has bagged 13 nominations while Abbott Elementary and Only Murders in the Building have 10 nominations each. Euphoria has got 9 nominations.
With a star-studded lineup of nominees and Mariska Hargitay taking charge as host, the 78th Emmy Awards are set to bring together some of the biggest names and most talked-about shows in television.
For Indian audiences, the ceremony can be watched live on JioHotstar from the early hours of September 15.
