Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently made a candid confession about her pregnancy, revealing that her pregnancy came as a surprise. She added that she and filmmaker-husband Raj Nidimoru were at a point where they were okay with not having children. The couple, in June, announced that they were expecting their first baby.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the 39-year-old spoke about finding out about her pregnancy while shooting for the song Thassadiya from the film Maa Inti Bangaraam. The actress said she is excited about the change that motherhood is set to bring in her life. Samantha’s comments come as the actress continues to share her pregnancy journeywith fans on social media
Samantha revealed that she and Raj had made peace with not having kids before she got pregnant. “I had reached a place where I was okay. Like, both Raj and I were okay with, maybe we can’t have kids. Maybe we will. I was okay with either. I was fine, and so was he. So, this is a surprise,” she said,
The actor also revealed how she felt after learning about the pregnancy. “The first day I was shooting for (the song) Thassadiya, I found out. I had just found out, and I had to go and do the steps. I was having a little bit of sickness at that time. I guess everything just aligned. And now, I am truly excited. Everyone tells me that having a child changes your entire life. I think I am ready for that change,” she shared.

Samantha and Raj Nidimoru first met when the actress starred in The Family Man 2, which was created by Raj and DK. They later worked together again on Citadel: Honey Bunny, after which rumours about their relationship began doing the rounds. The two were seen appearing together at events and in Samantha’s social media posts. However, they kept their personal lives private and did not confirm their relationship before getting married.
The couple tied the knot on December 1, 2025, in an intimate ceremony at the Linga Bhairavi Temple within the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore. At the success meet of Maa Inti Bangaram, Samantha confirmed her pregnancy saying she will be going on a maternity break.
