Dark Horse has announced it is launching a line of Compact Editions of their titles in May 2027. Each 5.5 x 8.5” paperback release will reprint two series, and are individually priced at $9.99. The first four books consist of The Witcher: The Bear and the Butterfly and The Ballad of Two Wolves, Black Hammer: Secret Origins and The Event, Cyberpunk 2077: Trauma Team and Psycho Squad, and Canto: The Shrouded Man. The Goon: Nothin’ But my Misery and My Murderous Childhood will also be a part of the line-up, although it doesn’t have a <a href="https://comicvibe.com/apple-watch-series-12-announced-features-price-release-date/" title="Apple Watch Series 12 announced: Features, price, release date“>release date yet.
The Witcher: The Bear and the Butterfly and The Ballad of Two Wolves (out May 25, 2027, 200 pages) collects Simon Spurrier & Stephen Green‘s 2025 series about Geralt of Rie, and Bartosz Sztybor & Miki Montllo‘s 2022-23 spin on Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf
Black Hammer: Secret Origins and The Event (June 1, 2027, 344 pages) reprints issues #1-11 and #13 of Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston‘s creator-owned superhero series, originally released from 2016 to 2017. The comic follows “the old superheroes of Spiral City,” who, after a multiversal event, “now lead simple lives on a bizarre farm from which there is no escape! But as they employ all of their super abilities to free themselves from this strange purgatory, a mysterious stranger works to bring them back into action for one last adventure!”
Cyberpunk 2077: Trauma Team and Psycho Squad (June 29, 2027, 200 pages) collects Cullen Bunn & Miguel Valderrama‘s 2020 series following a member of an emergency medical response team, and Dan Watters & Kieran McKeown‘s 2025 one about Night City Police’s anti-cyberpsycho unit MaxTac.
Canto Compact Edition: The Shrouded Man (not pictured, July 6, 2027, 328 pages) reprints Canto: If I Only Had a Heart #1-6 (2019), Canto: The Hollow Men #1-5 (2020), and Canto & The Clockwork Faeries (2020) by David M. Booher and Drew Zucker.
The Goon: Nothin’ But My Misery and My Murderous Childhood will collect the first two volumes of Eric Powell‘s supernatural comedy, which originally debuted in 1999.
