MUMBAI: IMDbPro is giving India’s entertainment professionals a year-long premium pass, free of charge.
The professional networking and career management platform has launched a free 12-month Premium membership for eligible entertainment professionals in India, including actors, directors, producers, writers and crew members.
The offer provides full access to IMDbPro’s suite of career management tools, networking features and industry insights. There are no charges during the 12-month period and the membership will not auto-renew at the end of the offer.
To qualify, professionals must be based in India and have an existing IMDb name page with at least one credited role. Eligible users can sign up through IMDbPro’s India registration page.
The initiative comes as IMDb looks to deepen its engagement with India’s large and diverse entertainment community, which spans more than 15 languages and includes hundreds of thousands of working professionals.
IMDb said the decision to remove the payment barrier at launch is intended to allow more professionals to explore the platform, use its tools and provide feedback as the company develops its offering for the Indian market.
“India is home to one of the world’s most dynamic creative communities whose work is increasingly powering productions both in India and around the world,” said IMDb head of India Yaminie Patodia.
“From actors and directors to writers, technicians, VFX artists, and production crews, Indian talent is contributing to every stage of the creative process. At IMDb, we’re making a significant investment in this community by removing barriers and giving professionals the tools they need to manage their careers, expand their networks, and get discovered,” she added.
IMDb currently has more than 430,000 Indian entertainment professionals in its database. Through the Premium membership, professionals can add profile photos, demo reels and featured videos, update credits, choose their primary profession and select the projects they are best known for.
The platform also offers access to detailed contact and representation information, shared professional connections and tools to discover potential collaborators.
For professionals looking beyond their immediate networks, IMDbPro provides access to in-development projects, STARmeter and MOVIEmeter rankings and advanced search functions that can be used to find people and projects based on experience, expertise and other criteria.

“IMDbPro is very important for anyone working in the entertainment industry. As a casting director, we regularly go through actors’ profiles and their work,” said casting director Mukesh Chhabra.
Chhabra added that he has used the platform to connect with international filmmakers, including Richie Mehta and Michael Winterbottom, and advised actors and technicians to keep their profiles updated with credits, work and contact details.
For actors, the platform can also serve as a professional calling card. Kesav Binoy Kiron, actor in Girls Will Be Girls and an IMDbPro Premium member, said his profile helped him secure an audition for an international project after he added his contact information.
“Having an IMDbPro Premium membership with up to date information allows casting directors and filmmakers from anywhere in the world to easily discover you and reach out for collaborations,” said Girls Will Be Girls actor and IMDbPro Premium member Kesav Binoy Kiron.
Beyond profile management and networking, IMDbPro Premium includes the IMDbPro app for iPhone, iPad and Android, personalised industry news and notifications through IMDbPro Track, and tools for creating digital promotional assets for social media and other platforms.
The company is positioning the India launch as more than a promotional offer. By opening up its premium tools to a wider pool of local professionals, IMDb is looking to strengthen the role of its platform in helping Indian talent build visibility and connect with opportunities both within the country and internationally.
For an industry increasingly shaped by cross-border productions and global streaming platforms, IMDbPro’s free year could give Indian entertainment professionals another way to make sure their work is seen, and their next opportunity is easier to find.
