    Krafton invests another $250 million in India to back tech startups beyond gaming

    Friday, 4 September 2026, 18:34

    The South Korean gaming company is broadening its ambitions in one of the world’s fastest-growing technology markets, with bigger plans ahead.

    South Korean company Krafton is investing another $250 million in the development of technology and creative projects in India. This time, the focus extends beyond the gaming industry, with the new investment covering a broader range of digital sectors.

    The company considers India one of its key markets for long-term growth. Krafton plans to support not only local video game studios but also startups working in the following areas:

    • artificial intelligence and deep tech;
    • digital content and the entertainment industry;
    • financial technology;
    • educational platforms and consumer digital services.

    Krafton’s investments extend beyond the gaming business

    The new strategy involves building a broad technology ecosystem in India. The company will seek out local teams capable of developing products not only for Indian users but also for international audiences.

    India has already become an important market for Krafton following the launch and expansion of its gaming projects there. The additional $250 million is expected to strengthen the company’s position in the country and expand its role in developing India’s technology sector.

    In this way, Krafton is gradually transforming India from a standalone sales market into a strategic base for discovering innovations, building partnerships, and pursuing new growth opportunities. The company is betting on the development of local startups and establishing a long-term presence beyond the traditional gaming industry.
