Fortnite v42.10 update release date and downtime
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 v42.10 update will release at 4 AM ET on September 3, 2026. The servers of the game will taken down for maintenance for approximately two hours, and you will be able to play the game from 6 AM ET.Keep in mind that matchmaking is usually taken offline 30 minutes before downtime begins, so make sure you wrap up any ongoing matches or Sprite activities before 3:30 AM ET.
What’s new in Fortnite v42.10 update?
Three new Sprites are coming to Fortnite
Three new Sprites are being introduced in v42.10: the X-Ray Sprite, Onigiri Sprite, and an Unknown Sprite. The first two are winners from the Design a Sprite Fortnite contest held earlier this year, while the last is an original design by Epic Games. Here is what each one does:
Match Overrides
Epic Games is adding 2 new Match Overrides as part of the Fortnite v42.10 update. The two Overrides are going to be Big Heads and Prop Hunt.You were earlier able to experience Big Heads as part of the April Fool’s celebration. Speaking of the Prop Hunt Match Override, it will likely allow you to turn into props.
Six new Loot Hacks
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4’s new update is also bringing six Loot Hacks. Here is the full list:
- Rocket Ram
- Golden Banana
- Tracking Visor
- Holo Twister Assault Rifle
- Deadeye Assault Rifle
- Wrecker Revolver
Fortnite OG Season X
Fortnite OG Season X will also kick off on September 3, 2026, bringing new POIs including Tilted Town, Starry Suburbs, and The Meteor. The Pandora Rift Zone from Borderlands will also likely become a part of the game’s island.The Fortnite OG loot pool is also being modified, with new weapons and items being added: Junk Rift, SR Tactical Submachine Gun, Shield Bubble, Zapper Trap, Spicy Taco Forageable, Automatic Sniper Rifle, B.R.U.T.E., and Glitched Forageable.
