Hulu’s popularity could be attributed to its vast collection of great older TV shows and movies and some top-notch original shows, including Only Murders in the Building, Paradise and The Handmaid’s Tale. Its collaboration with FX has also produced some of the platform’s most prestigious and popular shows, including The Bear, Reservation Dogs and Shogun.
Ryan Murphy continues to churn out TV shows month after month — fresh off the release of his FX drama The Shards, he returns with a brand new season of American Horror Story, which features most of his longtime collaborators like Sarah Paulsen and Jessica Lange. Murphy has compared this season to the Avengers, as it brings together several characters and storylines from past seasons. (If you love Murphy, he also has a new season of his hit series Monster arriving on Netflix this month, too.) Also arriving this month on Hulu are a new season of the Glen Powell sports comedy Chad Powers and a new, drama-filled season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. This month also marks the arrival of FX’s The Drop: A Snowfall Saga, a spin-off of the hit crime drama.

Welcome to the Family: The Murder of Dan Markel
Hulu’s newest true-crime docuseries centers on the 2014 murder of Florida attorney and law professor Dan Markel, who was killed in a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by his wife, Wendi Adelson. The four-part series reveals the details of the tragic incident, which ended with five people convicted for the killing, including Adelson’s mother and brother. The show arrives on Sept. 1.

Chad Powers (Season 2)
Chad Powers, the Hulu original series starring Glen Powell, returns for season 2. In the first season, Powell played dual roles as Russ Halliday, a disgraced college football quarterback who thought he might never play again… until he disguised himself with prosthetics and posed as a new player, Chad Powers, to reboot his career. This season, Chad’s suspicious behavior and lies are starting to catch up with him. The show co-stars Steve Zahn, Perry Mattfield, Quentin Plair and Wynn Everett, and every episode of the new season will drop Sept. 3.

The Drop: A Snowfall Saga
Franklin Saint’s story may have ended when Snowfall wrapped in 2023, but Wanda and Leon are going strong in the new spin-off on FX, The Drop: A Snowfall Saga. The duo, played by Gail Bean and Isaiah John, are trying to make waves in the music industry as West Coast rap takes off in the early ’90s. Wanda’s cousins Lamar (played by Asante Blackk pictured above) and James get involved, and along with Leon, try to balance business, street codes and peace. The show premieres on FX and Hulu on Sept. 8.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives (Season 5)
So much has happened with the women of MomTok since we last watched The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. On the upcoming fifth season of the show, which drops all five of its new episodes on Sept. 10, we’ll catch up with Taylor Frankie Paul, whose personal issues and domestic violence allegations led to the cancellation of her season of The Bachelorette earlier this year, along with Whitney Leavitt, Jessi Draper, Layla Taylor and the rest of the cast.

City of Blood (Season 1)
In the new Hulu original series City of Blood, two estranged sisters from Berlin, Bea (Lea Drinda) and Phoebe (Soma Pysall), learn a wild truth about their city – it’s controlled by vampires. The show is based on Berlinoir, a graphic novel by Reinhard Kleist and Tobias O. Meißner. The original comic presents an alternate Berlin shaped by a powerful vampire society that is not content just to run the criminal underworld; they’re thirsty to control the government, too. All eight episodes drop on Sept. 16, and it will be available on both Hulu and Disney Plus.

American Horror Story: 13
Ryan Murphy has assembled an all-star team of collaborators for the newest season of American Horror Story, which is titled 13. Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Jessica Lange are all back for the new series, which premieres on FX and Hulu on Sept. 24. While the plot is under wraps, Murphy has stated that this season, the show’s 13th, appropriately enough, will be a crossover featuring multiple characters and stories from past seasons.

Jujustu Kaisen 0
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a feature-length prequel to the Jujutsu Kaisen TV series. It originally came out in 2021 and makes its way to Hulu on Sept. 30. The movie, like the show, is based on the manga by Gege Akutami and is the story of teenagers Yuta, Maki, Toge and Panda, who all possess special powers and are sorcerers in training at Jujutsu High.

One of Them Days
One of the more hilarious buddy comedies of the past few years, One of Them Days, is arriving on Hulu on Sept. 30. The film stars Keke Palmer and SZA as roommates Dreux and Alyssa, who learn that Alyssa’s boyfriend has stolen their rent money, which is due by 6 p.m. that day. Their quest to track down the money sends the pair on a hero’s journey across LA where they try to earn the money they need by any means necessary. Palmer and SZA are a hilarious team, but there are also amazing appearances from Katt Williams, Janelle James, Lil Rel Howery and more.
