6 Netflix Shows You Need to Watch This September

It’s time to head back to school on <a href="https://people.com/canceled-netflix-shows-2026-list-11949044″ rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>Netflix!

Among a group of fresh titles on the platform is the sequel of A Different World, following beloved characters Whitley and Dwayne’s daughter Deborah at the same fictional HBCU, Hillman College. The continuation of the ’80s sitcom promises to do a lot of fan service while updating the show’s themes for a modern world.

If you aren’t yet ready to leave summer all the way behind, Crew Girl might be for you. While its backdrop is also an academic setting, the drama centers on the aquatic sport of rowing, leaving room for plenty of steamy, summery moments. In between on Netflix, you can watch Alix Earle‘s new reality series and Lizzie Borden‘s terrifying story come to life in Ryan Murphy‘s Monster anthology.

Here are all the shows to watch on Netflix in September 2026.

The Gentlemen season 2 (Sept. 3)

Following Guy Ritchie’s popular 2019 movie by the same name, came Netflix’s series The Gentlemen.

Starring Theo James as a Duke who inherits not only his title but also a massive marijuana operation upon his father’s death and Kaya Scodelario as the assumed leader of the criminal enterprise surrounding their drug smuggling, the first season saw James’ character Eddie struggle to get a foothold.

Season 2 of the series has the hallmark Ritchie signs of violence and action, while also incorporating more humor as Eddie looks to expand their business even further.

Earle Meets World (Sept. 4)

Influencer Alix Earle is opening up her life, family and relationships in the first season of her reality show Earle Meets World.

The series follows the social media personality as her career grows, she competes on Dancing with the Stars, processes her mother’s cancer diagnosis and deals with the fallout of her split from NFL player Braxton Berrios.

Fans of Earle will know the main beats of the plot, but may see new sides of their favorite influencer.

Crew Girl (Sept. 10)

Heated Rivalry fans, it’s time to get off the ice and into Crew Girl‘s boat. The new Canadian romance series follows Teagan Tao (Miku Martineau) trying to start over at an elite prep school after a family scandal. The talented rower is kneecapped when she learns her new school doesn’t have a girls team.

As a compromise, she becomes the boys team’s coxswain and you can imagine how that goes. As she works to build trust with the team, she also finds herself in the middle of a love triangle with Josh Regis (Sam Braun) and Cam Dillinger (Kyle Clark). The epic highs and lows of high school rowing ensue.

Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story (Sept. 17)

Prolific TV writer Murphy is back wth another season of Monster, this time chronicling one of the United States’ oldest true crime stories: Lizzie Borden’s alleged killing of her father and stepmother. She was acquitted in 1893 but has remained on of the most infamous murder suspects in American history.

In typical Murphy style, the series takes a sensationalized case and brings it up to a fever pitch, fictionalizing real-life happenings to dramatic, violent effect.

The new season stars Warren Beatty and Annette Bening‘s daughter Ella Beatty as Lizzie, Charlie Hunnam as her father Andrew and Billie Lourd as her sister Emma.

Wonka’s The Golden Ticket (Sept. 23)

Have you ever wished Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory was real, allowing you to bite into an everlasting gobstopper or three course dinner chewing gum? Now, 24 people are getting the opportunity to live out this dream as contestants on Netflix’s newest reality show.

In the series, 12 Golden Ticket winners will traverse challenges in Wonka’s factory alongside a partner of their choosing, just like in the film. Mirroring the movie, the trials they must go through will test their physical, mental and moral strength.

Original on-screen Wonka Gene Wilder’s estate even allowed Netflix to use a recreation of his voice for the series and the first Oompa Loompa, Rusty Goffe, will star.

A Different World (Sept. 24)

Hillman is back and better than ever. In this sequel to the beloved Cosby Show spinoff Maleah Joi Moon stars as Deborah, Whitley and Dwayne’s daughter, who is all grown up and following in her parents’ footsteps at their alma mater.

Like the original series, A Different World on Netflix charts Deborah’s acclimation to college life, her dreams and her relationships. The supporting cast includes Cree Summer, Jenifer Lewis, Alijah Kai Haggins and Cornell Young IV, among many others.
