5 Movies & TV Shows You Know Lukas Gage From (& 2 Upcoming)

If you’ve watched a popular TV show or movie lately, there’s a great chance that you’ve seen Lukas Gage. The actor has had breakout roles as Tyler in the first season of Euphoria (2019) and Dillon in the first season of The White Lotus (2020). He’s also played versions of himself in the Gossip Girl (2021) sequel series and the comedy The Other Two (2019). 

More recently, Gage also starred in the controversial Rosebush Pruning (2026), and that’s not even the first or last of the movies he has appeared in this year. Lukas Gage is a star on the rise. He’s one to watch, and he has been for many years. In anticipation of even more of his work releasing soon, here are some of his standout roles and where you may see him next. Looking back at Gage’s filmography, Love, Victor is the first time I remember seeing him in a role. As it turns out, Gage was in my TV orbit well before then. He appeared in an episode of Disney Channel’s underrated comedy I Didn’t Do It (2014), as well as Netflix’s On My Block (2018). As a huge Love, Simon (2018) fan, I’m not shocked that Love, Victor, the sequel series that expands the movie’s universe, is where he first stood out to me. 

Gage only appears in five episodes, four of which are in the first season. He plays Derek, who is in an established but strained relationship with Benji (George Sear). Love, Victor mainly shows how incompatible things have become between Derek and Benji, regardless of Victor (Michael Cimino). Derek doesn’t seem all that invested in the relationship or Benji–he forgets their anniversary. Needless to say, the relationship doesn’t last.

You is a show that I fell in and out of love with quite frequently during its run. Nothing quite matched the first season for me, but I do appreciate that the show kept challenging itself. Part of that journey is You Season 4 taking Joe Goldberg (Penn Badley) to London. One of the many new characters he meets there is Lukas Gage’s Adam Pratt.

With all of Joe’s moves, You’s cast started to rotate frequently. It is a real task to ask the audience to invest in a whole new group of people. Still, Gage is a standout in that fourth season. He leans into his character’s superficiality while digging into what lies under the surface. Adam isn’t a good guy, but Gage made him an interesting character to watch–up to his deadly end.

Like many horror sequels, Smile 2 is already a tough project because Smile (2018) was such a massive success. The movie is mainly a triumph for Naomi Scott as Skye, which is particularly exciting for this Lemonade Mouth (2011) fan. As a growing admirer of Lukas Gage’s work, it’s exciting to see him exercise his versatility across genres.

It’s around the time of Smile 2that Gage starts taking on more genre projects, whether it be a horror thriller or a supernatural one. Think about his performance as the Cat King in Dead Boy Detectives (2024) or his presence in Companion (2025). Smile 2 feels like a turning point for this part of his career, and it all comes through his chilling and heartbreaking turn as Skye’s friend Lewis. Gage may not be the lead in these projects, but he leaves a lasting impression.

I’ll take any and every chance to write about this show. With the second season coming up, let this be a reminder that I really like Overcompensating. Lukas Gage plays Sammy in the first season. Sammy is a high school friend of Benny (Benito Skinner). Though he appears in a repeated flashback, he mainly plays the role in the season’s penultimate episode. It may be my favorite episode of the season. 

When Sammy finally appears outside of the flashback, there’s a lot of anticipation and expectations attached to the character. Gage and Skinner lean into all of that with just a few scenes. Their characters’ relationship is so important to Benny’s arc that I don’t really want to spoil what happens or doesn’t between them. However, I will say that I like that Season 1 leaves the door open for more of their dynamic in Season 2.

One of the recurring themes of this list is that Lukas Gage may not always have the biggest or leading role in these projects, but he makes a minor or supporting role into a memorable one. One of my favorite subgenres of roles like that is the characters that inhabit that space in romantic comedies. Judy Greer, 13 Going on 30 (2004) and 27 Dresses (2008), are the best. With his recent run, I would put Lukas Gage in the running for that spot for 2020 rom-coms. 

As an Emily Henry fan, I knew that Buck was a very niche, small role that could totally be changed or dropped in a film adaptation of People We Meet on Vacation (2026). Thankfully, the movie keeps it, and Gage does an excellent job with the character’s vibe. He has much more to work with as Arthur opposite Zoey Deutch as Jill in Voicemails for Isabelle. That character is so important to Jill, bringing her levity in her professional and personal life. Basically, Lukas Gage should be in more romantic comedies! He should also be the lead of one!

Hulu’s new Prison Break(2005) sequel series is on my radar because I, like practically millions of other people, was just blown away by the original series. I also enjoyed its return with Prison Break: Resurrection (2015). After all that story over all those years, it totally makes sense that this new show will exist in the same world as the original but follow new characters. Lukas Gage’s Jackson is one of them.

Sadly, there’s not much more information about his character. The show stars Emily Browning as Cassidy: “An ex-soldier turned corrections officer (Browning) takes a job at one of the deadliest prisons in America to prove just how far she’ll go for someone she loves,” per Variety. Browning and Gage will be joined by  Drake Rodger as Tommy, Clayton Cardenas as Michael/Ghost, JR Bourne as Junior, Georgie Flores as Andrea, and Myles Bullock as Darius/Red.

Another Lukas Project that I am keeping tabs on is Prime Video’s Clashing Through the Snow. Deadline exclusively announced the project in January 2026. There’s not much known about the comedy other than that it’s described “as Planes, Trains and Automobiles for today’s generation.” The Summer I Turned Pretty’s (2022) Christopher Briney joined the project in January. By February, Deadline exclusively reported that Gage had also joined the cast.

Clashing Through the Snow will also star Michelle Randolph, Paris Hilton, and Julia Fox. The comedy was reported to have begun production earlier this year, but there haven’t been any updates about when it may release. However, Upgraded (2024) director Carlson Young will helm it. As someone who prefers comedies to horrors and wants to see Gage in more of the former, I am really looking forward to Clashing Through the Snow.
