IO Interactive‘s critically acclaimed action game is getting a free starter pack on the PlayStation Store for PS5 owners. Released earlier this year, 007 First Light will soon be free to play, but with a caveat.
PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can now access a timed trial, while other PS5 owners will soon be able to access a free starter pack. Starting November 10, 2026, PS5 owners can access the 007 First Light Free Starter Pack.

What to expect from 007 First Light’s free Starter Pack on PS5?
The opening mission introduces a new origin story for James Bond. In the mission, Bond, an SAS member, is guided by an MI6 handler during a covert operation in Iceland. However, PS Plus Premium subscribers can also access a one-hour trial of the game, which is enough to complete the opening mission.
The PS Plus Premium trial is a separate download from the Starter Pack. Progress made in either version will carry over to the full game if players purchase it. The opening mission introduces players to many of the game’s mechanics, including stealth takedowns and environmental navigation. Following that, Bond is recruited into MI6 and thrown into a globe-trotting adventure.
Besides the demo, 007 First Light has also been discounted on the PlayStation Store by a massive 50%. It can be bought for $39.99, down from its usual MSRP of $79.99, between November 5 and 21, 2026.
Following its release in May, the hit game has continued to receive updates and free DLC. Earlier in October, IO Interactive gifted players with the Extended Operations update, which added several fan-requested items, a new game mode, and community-focused features.
007 First Light is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
