Macklemore’s removal from Ed Sheeran’s tour has set off a chain reaction, with the Seattle artist pledging $1 million to Palestinian causes and challenging New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft to match it. Kraft responded, saying Sheeran had asked him to commit $2 million.

Controversy erupted as pop star Ed Sheeran announced that the decision to exclude pro-Palestinian rapper Macklemore from his U.S. tour was made by organizers, not by him. Macklemore’s ‘Free Palestine’ statement earlier in New Jersey fueled this contentious removal.

Macklemore’s activism began long before his pro-Palestinian plight during Ed Sheeran’s “Loop Tour.”

British pop star Ed Sheeran has said the decision to remove American rapper Macklemore from the remaining US dates of his Loop Tour was made by the tour promoter and venues, after Macklemore made pro-Palestinian remarks during two concerts in New Jersey.
