A statement on the blues-rock band’s website said he died on Monday in hospice care at his ranch in Richmond, Texas, with family members at his side. His cause of death was not specified.
The Fort Bend County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Beard’s death to Fox News Digital. Circumstances surrounding his death were not immediately available.
Frank Beard, the drummer for the Texas boogie-rock trio ZZ Top, who kept the tempo for the band’s biggest hits like “Sharp Dressed Man,” “Legs,” and “Gimme All Your Lovin,’” has died. He was 77.
