A highly-anticipated property from Disney+ is no longer in the works after the streaming giant opted to cancel plans for a live action reboot of a classic show.

After the famed composer canceled multiple performances in Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut, he spoke out about the circumstances that led to the decision. 

Sports Entertainment Group Limited (ASX:SEG) has notified the market of the cancellation of 367,349 ordinary fully paid shares on 12 August 2026, pursuant to an on-market buy-back, with total consideration paid of AUD 94,478.84.

The series, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the title character and Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, was renewed in March, but is now done at Disney+.

And for those who were planning to see the 83-year-old perform in Kentucky, they’re just going to have to wait a little longer, as his Aug. 4 show was postponed minutes before he was set to take the stage.

Disney+ had a change of plans for Wonder Man,when it canceled the Marvel live-action series roughly four months after announcing a season two renewal.
