Indie studio Pixelity has just released the first teaser image and confirmed that it will soon be releasing a VR game based on its previously announced hit 90s anime Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995).
A single image isn’t usually cause for celebration, but there has been a spate of game cancellations lately, including the planned Batman: Arkham Shadow sequel and reportedly the official Harry Potter VR game.
First announced in February 2025, South Korea-based indie Pixelity has confirmed that EVANGELION: Δ CROSS REFLECTIONS is still in development.

Although series protagonist Shinji Ikari never actually agrees to join NERV in the anime — he’s only shoved into the pilot’s chair in the first episode when New Tokyo City III is under attack — the image above seems to hint at Gendo Ikari’s more gentle induction into the mysterious defense organization.
According to Pixelity, Cross Reflections will be a three-part experience based on the story of all 26 episodes of the original anime, with the first installment expected to arrive in 2026.
There’s no release date or list of confirmed target platforms yet, but a few lucky attendees of the upcoming Evangelion 30th Anniversary event in Japan will be able to experience the demo for the first time.
The event is scheduled to be held in Tokyo from February 21st to 23rd. Click here to learn how to purchase tickets and sign up for a chance to demo the game.
