Fans may already have a date circled on their calendars for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle2, even though Crunchyroll has yet to make anything official. A listing for an unnamed Sony Pictures release has sparked speculation that the anime sequel could arrive sooner than expected.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle 2 release date revealed?
The Numbers currently lists an “Untitled Sony Pictures Film” for Sept. 17, 2027, with an international release set for Sept. 15. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures appear as distributors, which has led fans to connect the listing with Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle – Part 2. The connection, however, remains unconfirmed since the slot could also belong to Solo Leveling
That uncertainty matters because Crunchyroll has not announced dates for either of the remaining Infinity Castle movies. The first installment launched in 2025 as the opening chapter of a three-film adaptation of Demon Slayer’s final storyline. The movie also took home Film of the Year at the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
The movie likewise turned into a full-blown box office powerhouse, raking in around $793 million worldwide, including over $600 million from the domestic market. The strong run also lines up with its reception online. Rotten Tomatoes currently gives it a 98% score from both critics and audiences, while IMDb has the movie sitting at an impressive 8.4/10.
The first film dropped viewers into the Demon Slayer Corps’ clash with Muzan inside his Infinity Castle. Tanjiro and Giyu battled Upper Rank 3 Akaza, Zenitsu faced Kaigaku, and the Corps confronted Upper Rank 2 Doma. Two Upper Rank demons fell, but Muzan remained out of reach, while Nezuko stayed hidden because her ability to survive sunlight makes her a target.
That ending leaves plenty on the table for Part 2, but the reported 2027 date is fan speculation rather than a confirmed announcement. Meanwhile, the first Infinity Castle continues to stream on Crunchyroll.
