When society collapses, everything we know collapses. A zombie apocalypse would mean the end of mass media, mass transportation, and most of the basic comforts of modern society.
Well, basic comfort may not be everything.
If you watch The Walking Dead, you’ll see the survivors struggle to rebuild society. However, some of the survivors are a little too well-dressed, and their clothes are a little too nice. This criticism isn’t coming from a random viewer on Reddit, it’s coming from one of the series’ biggest stars.
Norman Reedus played Daryl Dixon for all 11 seasons of The Walking Dead and is currently starring in the spin-off, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. During the first season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, there was talk of a more streamlined hairstyle for Reedus, but Reedus felt he should keep his messy look.
“I thought Supercuts was shut down in the apocalypse,” Norman Reedus said during the Walking Dead spotlight panel at New York Comic Con 2023. “[Showrunner]Scott Wilson and I were like, ‘No more.’ Sometimes[on “The Walking Dead”]people’s pants would get tighter and it would bother you. People had makeup on. All this stuff. And if you remember where that show went, everyone was getting more and more feral.”
This would be hard to miss when watching episodes of The Walking Dead, especially in later seasons. The survivors probably felt that the collapse of society was stressful, so they wanted to make themselves look good.
