Netflix is going to be keeping us pretty busy this month with all the new titles they’re about to drop. This September seems like it’s all about the return of old favorites: the beloved 1980s sitcom A Different World has been rebooted (they’re officially calling it a sequel series), and while the actors playing college students are all new, most of the original cast is back, too. (Are Dwayne Wayne’s glasses going to make a necessary comeback? Fingers crossed.) Guy Ritchie’s action-packed TV series The Gentlemen is back this month, too, and Ryan Murphy’s Monster series will return with a new season dedicated to Lizzie Borden.

If you’re looking for new movies to tune in to, some of the highlights this month include Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again?, which welcomes Taraji P. Henson to the franchise, and Unabomber, a new drama about the formative years of Ted Kaczynski, starring Jacob Tremblay, Russell Crowe and Shailene Woodley.

Here’s a look at some of the new titles we can’t wait to watch on Netflix in September.

    Sept. 1

    Netflix

    Untold: Raygun: Breaking Badly

A new batch of episodes from Netflix’s great sports documentary series Untold are trickling out this month, and the one we’re most excited for is Raygun: Breaking Badly, a documentary about the most infamous athlete at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Rachael Gunn. You may remember her as Raygun, the Australian who competed in the Summer Games’ inaugural breaking event and became the butt of jokes and memes after her appearance. Hopefully, we’ll finally understand what really happened and how she overcame her viral notoriety. (Untold: The Testimony of Vince Young arrived on Aug. 25, and a third episode, Untold: Mr. T: I Pity The Fool, drops Sept. 8.)

    Sept. 3

Kaia Scodelario and Theo James in The Gentlemen season 2
    Netflix

    The Gentlemen (Season 2)

Guy Ritchie’s action comedy series The Gentlemen, a spinoff of his film of the same name, returns on Sept. 3 for season 2. Theo James stars in the show as Eddie Horniman, a man who becomes a duke upon the death of his aristocratic father, but learns that the nice English estate he has inherited is also a cannabis farm. He teams up with Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) and her father, Bobby (Ray Winstone), to run the criminal enterprise, and season 2 picks up a year after the events of season 1 as Eddie sinks deeper into the criminal underworld, this time in Italy. This season, Hugh Bonneville, Maya Jama and Benedetta Porcaroli join the cast. And while the show hasn’t yet been officially renewed for a third season, there are rumors that Meghan Markle (a.k.a Meghan, Duchess of Sussex) may join the cast.

    Sept. 4

Influencer Alix Earle gets her hair done
    Netflix

    Earle Meets World (Season 1)

Get ready (with her), because TikTok and Instagram star Alix Earle is about to be the star of her own reality show. Earle Meets World will star Earle, her sister Ashtin, her dad TJ and his wife, Ashley, Earle’s mom Alisa and the rest of their blended family and promises to offer an authentic look at Earle’s life. The series premieres on Sept. 4.

    Sept. 8

Poppy Liu as Eunice Dan, Andrew Law as Andrew Dang and Stephanie Hsu as Ruthie Dang in Dang! S1.
    Netflix

    DANG! (Season 1)

In the adult animated series DANG!, out on Sept. 8, Stephanie Hsu voices Ruthie, the stuffy older sister of chaotic and fun Eunice (Poppy Liu) and Andrew (Andrew Law). When Ruthie visits her siblings in New York City, they attempt to show her how to have fun. The series is created by Law and is executive-produced by Mike Schur and Andrew Yang and animated by Titmouse Animation.

    Sept. 9

Taraji P. Henson in Why Did I Get Married Again?
    Netflix

Why Did I Get Married Again?

Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again? is the third film in the franchise about four couples, all longtime friends, whose relationships have had their ups and downs. In the new film, separated couple Marcus and Angela, played by Michael Jai White and Tasha Smith, reunite as their daughter prepares to tie the knot in Lake Como, Italy. Jill Scott, Richard T. Jones and Sharon Leal are also back for this installment, and Taraji P. Henson joins the cast as Roselyn, the mother of the groom. The first two Why Did I Get Married? films are also currently streaming on Netflix.

    Sept. 10

The cast of Call My Agent! The Movie
    Netflix

    Call My Agent! The Movie

Four seasons of the French series Call My Agent, about a group of talent agents at a fictional firm, are currently on Netflix, and the long-awaited Call My Agent! The Movie is arriving this month. The series focused mainly on the relationships between the agents and the often difficult celebrities they work with and features tons of French celebrities. In the film, expect to see cameos from Hollywood types, too, like George Clooney and Eva Longoria.

Samuel Braun as Josh Regis and Miku Martineau in Episode 3 of Crew Girl
    Craig Minielly/Netflix

    Crew Girl (Season 1)

The new sports drama series Crew Girl is about a teenager named Teagan Tao (Miku Martineau) who is a sculler on her high school crew team. When her mom (Mad Men’s Jessica Paré) uproots her and Teagan relocates to a new school – one without a women’s crew team – Teagan is forced to join the men’s crew team, where she finds herself engaged in fierce rivalries with her male teammates. The eight-episode series drops on Netflix on Sept. 10.

    Sept. 17

    Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story

Ryan Murphy’s Monster series has dramatized the lives of notorious killers like Jeffrey Dahmer, Ed Gein and the Menendez brothers, and the latest series will take a swing at Lizzie Borden, the ax-wielding woman accused of killing her parents in 1892. (She was acquitted, but the famous nursery rhyme doesn’t mention that.) Ella Beatty stars as Borden, and the eight-episode series co-stars Vicky Krieps, Charlie Hunnam, Rebecca Hall and Sarah Paulson.

Stranger Things: Tales From '85: Season 2. (L-R) Luca Diaz as Mike and Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven in Stranger Things: Tales From '85: Season 2.
    Netflix

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 (Season 2)

For those of you who are still disappointed that Stranger Things is over, don’t fret, there’s a second season of the show’s spinoff series, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, arriving this month. The animated series follows the same group of kids from Hawkins, Indiana – Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas and Max – as they continue to battle the paranormal in their town.

    Sept. 18

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan in Best of the Best
    Netflix

    Best of the Best

Never Have I Ever actor Maitreyi Ramakrishnan co-stars with Priyanka Kedia in the new dance comedy Best of the Best, which arrives on Netflix on Sept. 18. The pair play childhood best friends who join UCLA’s competitive Bollywood-fusion dance team, only to realize that it’s far more competitive than they realized. Comedian Hasan Minhaj co-wrote the script with Prashanth Venkataramanujam to create a coming-of-age comedy about South Asian college kids, capitalizing on the wildly popular dance teams that have emerged on college campuses. The film melds Bollywood flair with a heartfelt story of friendship. Lilly Singh, Janina Gavankar and Chaneil Kular all co-star.

    Sept. 24

The cast of A Different World on Netflix
    Netflix

    A Different World (Season 1)

Elder millennials and Gen X-ers, get ready, one of the great shows of our childhood is getting rebooted. A Different World first premiered as a spin-off of The Cosby Show, starring Lisa Bonet as Denise Huxtable as she ventured off to college. While Bonet didn’t stick with the show for long, the series gave us indelible characters like Dwayne Wayne (Kadeem Hardison) and Whitley Gilbert (Jasmine Guy), who are back for the reboot (it’s technically being called a sequel series), as they watch their own daughter (Maleah Joi Moon) head to their alma mater, Hillman College. The series will focus on the lives of a new crop of young students, played by Alijah Kai, Chibuikem Uche, Cornell Young IV and Jordan Aaron Hall, and you can expect to see additional cast members from the original series too, like Darryl M. Bel, Cree Summer, Dawnn Lewis, Glynn Turman and Jada Pinkett Smith. Debbie Allen, who directed most of the original series, also directed the pilot.

    Sept. 25

Jacob Tremblay as Ted Kaczynski in Unabomber

    Unabomber

Director Janus Metz’s upcoming film Unabomber stars Jacob Tremblay as the young Ted Kaczynski, the man who orchestrated a decades-long mail bombing campaign that killed three people and injured 23 more. The film is told across two timelines: one that depicts a young Kaczynski as a Harvard prodigy subjected to psychological experiments by professor Henry Murray (Russell Crowe), and the manhunt that preceded his 1996 capture, led by FBI agent Joanne Miller (Shailene Woodley).

    Sept. 29

The stars of the live-action One Piece lend their voices for both episodes: Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Zoro, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji and Mikaela Hooever as Tony Tony Chopper.
