The annual Sioux City Geek Con is officially underway, promising a weekend packed with activities for pop culture and gaming enthusiasts of all kinds
According to organizers, excitement for this year’s event is at an all-time high, with pre-registration ticket sales doubling compared to last year.
Skyler Gorsett, president of the Sioux City Geek Convention, estimates that several thousand attendees will pass through the doors of the Sioux City Convention Center over the weekend.
“There’s something geeky for everybody,” Gorsett said. “It’s really nice to be able to bring people in from all kinds of different walks of life, from different perspectives, from different interests, and bring them all together and just have a good time.”
The convention features a diverse lineup of events, including cosplay contests, Dungeons & Dragons sessions, Warhammer tournaments, and more.
- Saturday Hours: 8 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.
- Sunday Hours: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Admission: Tickets are $30 per person for the entire weekend and can be purchased at the Sioux City Convention Center entrance. Admission is free for children ages 18 and younger.
