Both Team Latin America and Team Japan are fighting for a rematch against Team Curaçao in the International Championship game on Thursday morning.
It’s win-or-go-home for Team Latin America and Team Japan as they duke it out on Thursday afternoon for a spot in the International Championship in the 2026 Little League Baseball World Series. This is a double-elimination tournament, and these teams have only one loss so far. This game is the first of only two games today, and the first to break from the four-game format since the tournament’s opener on Aug. 19. This game will be played at Volunteer Stadium in Williamsport, PA, and will air on ESPN2. This international matchup will air simultaneously with a United States matchup between the Midwest Region and Great Lakes Region, also starting at 9:00 a.m. ET on ESPN. Those teams will have a chance to face off against the Mountain Region on Saturday for the United States Championship. This game for Team Latin America will be a chance to get a rematch against Team Curaçao, whom they lost to in the quarterfinal on Wednesday in their first game of the tournament. Team Latin America is represented by Ministerio Sobre Las Alas Del Aguila LL from Leon, Nicaragua, and they are now 3-1. They entered yesterday’s matchup undefeated but lost to Team Curaçao in a lopsided 12-3 final. The game was over before it really began, with Team Curaçao scoring 10 runs in the second inning. You know that Team Latin America will come into this game with a chip on their shoulders and a chance at revenge in Saturday’s International Championship game.

That loss felt even worse because Team Curaçao no-hit Team Japan. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise, though, since Team Japan has won four games straight. Team Japan is represented by Joto LL from Tokyo, Japan. They faced off in the second international quarterfinal game on Wednesday and comfortably beat Team Canada, 7-3. Team Japan did their scoring early with four in the second inning, and they followed that with three in the third.
