The era of plastic instruments may not be over. Stage Tour, a new rhythm game from RedOctane Games, will kick off its set on December 10, 2026.
In a new trailer shown at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, Motley Crue’s “Kickstart My Heart” led the release date announcement. Songs from bands like Paramore, Metallica, and Blink-182 are all on the setlist as well.
If you’re eager for the return of this particular era of rhythm gaming, hardware pre-order bundles are live now on the Stage Tour site as well. Prices vary depending on what instrument configurations you want and include some pre-order discounts; a game and guitar, for example, will currently cost $129.99, later increasing to $149.98. A full band kit bundle, with guitar, mic, and basic drum kit will run $299.99 at the moment, and there’s a higher option if you want some special cymbals for your drum kit.
It’s a little pricey, but it’s hard to deny that my wallet is fighting with my nostalgia for rocking out on plastic instruments. I’m hopeful that Stage Tour will put on a raucously good concert when it arrives this December.
