The Phillies will look to stretch their winning streak to 10 on the west coast on Monday night against the Seattle Mariners.
Coming off a thrilling 6-4 ninth-inning comeback, the Phillies will embark on a three-city trip on the west coast beginning in Seattle on Monday and ending in Phoenix next week.
The Phillies will send Zack Wheeler, Aaron Nola and Jesús Luzardo to the mound in the series. They will face a pair of right-handed starters, Logan Gilbertand George Kirby, on Monday and Tuesday. The Mariners have Wednesday’s starter as TBD. The M’s are 62-69, but only three games out of first place in the terrible AL West division.
The Phillies and Mariners have faced each other only 28 times since interleague play began in 1997. The two teams met for the first-time ever at Veterans Stadium in June 2003. The Phillies played their first series at Safeco Field — now T-Mobile Park — in June 2005. The Phillies swept the M’s at Citizens Bank Park last year in August.
