The PlayStation 5 remake of a cult classic 2003 action game has received a release date window alongside an overview of key features. Postal 2 Redux will mark the game’s debut on PlayStation consoles. Besides PS5, the game will release on PSVR2, PS4, PC, and Quest.

Postal 2 Redux will launch in Spring 2027 for the aforementioned platforms, and sometime later for other consoles. The Redux offers a complete overhaul of the original game, and promises “a sandbox in the truest sense.”
“Players decide how each day unfolds, playing their way from mild-mannered to mayhem, in a living, reactive world where no two playthroughs are ever the same,” says co-developer said Impact Reality.
“When we made the original Postal 2, we set out to build something that didn’t exist anywhere else, a game defined by total player freedom,” added Running With Scissors founder and CEO Vince Desi. “More than 25 years later, we wanted to bring modern technology and game systems to that original vision, and the response from the community overwhelmed us.”
An overview of new features is as follows:
- Remade in Unity 6 – Every major system rebuilt for modern hardware, with scalable performance across platforms.
- A Complete Visual Overhaul – Higher-resolution textures and upgraded lighting, shaders, and materials bring Paradise to life in a new way.
- A Complete Level Streaming Solution – Making movement through Paradise far smoother than it was in the 2003 release.
- A Living, Reactive Sandbox – Total player freedom to approach each day your way – from mild-mannered to mayhem – where no two playthroughs are ever the same.
- Rebuilt NPC Systems – Smarter, more reactive crowds that respond to the player and the world around them.
- Reforged Combat and Physics – Rebalanced, weightier combat and a fully reactive, physics-driven environment.
- Champ, Upgraded – The Postal Dude’s loyal companion returns with new interactions: pet him, bring him along, weaponize him, and more.
- PlayStation Debut – Postal 2 Redux debuts on PlayStation 4 and 5, featuring modern controls and console optimization.
