Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel StudiosBrad Winderbaum has made it clear that, under his watch, Marvel Animation will release “a Spider-Man season every year” if he has “anything to say about it.” Of course, Winderbaum has plenty to say about that and while Season 2 ofYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Manwas delayed by a few months until January 2027, it’s looking as though the surprise hit series will fall into the annual cadence Winderbaum hoped for.

Showrunner Jeff Trammell originally pitched four seasons of the series to Marvel, though he’s since said that has evolved into an indefinite number of seasons following the first season delivering “a level of web-slinging, wallcrawling action that no Spidey project to date has so much as dared to approach.”
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man joins X-Men ’97as a flagship series for Marvel Animation. As it stands, YFNSM looks to be on track for annual January-ish releases beginning in 2027 with X-Men potentially locking down an annual July-ish spot. Rolling out new seasons of hit animated series every six months sounds exactly like what Winderbaum had in mind when he took on his new role as the studio’s streaming skipper.
