Welcome to your end-of-week roundup of everything new on Netflix US! As we approach the tail end of August and the summer begins to wind down, Netflix has dropped a very respectable 27 new releases (13 movies and 14 series) to keep us entertained, with most of the lineup on Netflix’s own side cleared out for the fifth and final season of its flagship YA series, Outer Banks. To that end, whether you’re looking for a tearful goodbye, dive into a massive licensed military drama, or watch one of the weirdest (and best) indie movies of the 2010s, this week’s lineup is packing some serious heat.

It’s the end of the line, Pogues! The massively popular treasure-hunting teen drama has returned for its fifth and final season. John B, Sarah, JJ, Kiara, Pope, and Cleo are back for one last high-stakes, globe-trotting adventure as they race to uncover the ultimate prize. Expect intense action, emotional goodbyes, and plenty of sun-soaked North Carolina drama as Netflix closes the book on one of its biggest original series of the decade.
Swiss Army Man (2016)

Long before they swept the Oscars with Everything Everywhere All at Once, directing duo Daniels made their feature debut with this wonderfully weird, profoundly beautiful indie gem. Paul Dano stars as Hank, a suicidal man stranded on a deserted island who discovers a washed-up corpse (Daniel Radcliffe). To Hank’s surprise, the corpse is incredibly flatulent—and can be utilized like a multi-purpose tool to help him survive and find his way home. It sounds completely absurd, but it’s genuinely one of the most creative, heartfelt films you will ever watch.
SEAL Team (Seasons 1-7)

If you’ve been searching for your next massive binge-watch, Netflix has just licensed the entirety of this hit CBS/Paramount+ military drama (in the United States and in most regions around the globe). Starring David Boreanaz (Bones, Angel), the series follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan, and execute dangerous, high-stakes missions around the globe. With seven action-packed seasons now available at your fingertips, this will keep your watchlist full for weeks.

Over on the Movies list, Adam Sandler’s daughter Sunny is enjoying some serious success! The coming-of-age drama Don’t Say Good Luck surged to the #1 spot with 74 points, closely followed by the ripped-from-the-headlines thriller The Dating App Killer: The Monica White Story at #2 (70 points). Last week’s champion, The Last House, slipped to a still-very-strong #3 position (60 points).
We are also seeing viewers tune into this week’s fresh documentaries and thrillers, with the original investigative doc Freefall: A Reckoning for Boeing making a solid debut at #8 (21 points) and the intense Facing El Chapo pulling into the #12 slot.

On the TV Series charts, the mechanics of Valley Forge Automotive Center are laughing their way to the top! The third season of Shane Gillis’ workplace comedy Tires vaulted into the #1 position with a dominant 77 points. It pushed last week’s highlight, Conversations with a Killer: The Charles Manson Tapes, up the board to #2 (64 points), while teen drama My Life With the Walter Boys settled into #3 (61 points).
Down the list, we can already see the immense impact of our highlights! Despite only just dropping onto the service, the final season of Outer Banks debuted strongly at #7 (20 points)—expect the Pogues to absolutely dominate the #1 spot on next week’s list. Likewise, the massive licensed drop of SEAL Team is already eating up viewership, making its entrance at #11.
