Netflix continued its August rollout on Wednesday, adding several new titles to its library, including a new dark comedy drama from AMC featuring Zach Galifianakis.
The Audacity, which features Galifianakis (The Hangover trilogy, Lilo & Stitch) in a recurring role, premiered on AMC on April 12, 2026. The show’s first season consisted of eight episodes, which ran through May 31.
What to know about The Audacity
Written and created by Jonathan Glatzer (Succession, Better Call Saul), The Audacityis “Hollywood sticks it to Silicon Valley,” who gave the series a positive review
“It’s a lot to stuff into one series and sometimes “The Audacity” does suffer from trying to do too much,” Myers wrote. “But what it does accomplish is to deliver a solid right hook to the tech world and that hit proves to be acerbic, relevant and unbelievably on target, as are the performances from Magnussen and Goldberg. It’s a stinging portrait of an industry under siege by its own pioneers’ grand visions of who they are.”
The show stars Billy Magnussen as Duncan Park, the CEO of Hypergnosis. Sarah Goldberg plays his therapist JoAnne Felder, to whom Park divulges various insider trading and tech secrets.
Galifianakis features as Carl Bardolph, another client of Felder’s. The cast also includes Lucy Punch, Meaghan Rath, Paul Adelstein, Rob Corddry, Rakiya Bernard and others.
Season 2 is on the way
The Audacityis the latest addition from AMC’s agreement with Netflix. The series has already been renewed for a season season
“By dropping Season 1 onto Netflix just a few months after it aired, AMC is undoubtedly hoping to build a massive, mainstream audience for the comedy just in time to hype up the upcoming second season, which reportedly entered production in Canada in mid-June and will continue through October 2026, paving the way for a 2027 return,” said What’s on Netflix’s Kasey Moore.
Overall, the first season of The Audacity received positive feedback, earning an 80% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a “generally favorable” score from Metacritic.
