PCVR Central Has 898 VR Mods in One Catalog, and It Labels the Rough Ones

If you have ever tried to find out whether a specific game has a working VR mod, you know why that matters. The answer usually exists. It is just scattered across a pinned Discord message from 2023, a Reddit thread with three contradictory replies, a GitHub release page with no context, and a community spreadsheet nobody has touched since the last engine update broke half of it. PCVR Central pulls all of that into one place and, more usefully, attaches a quality label and a freshness date to every entry.

    The labels are the product

Four grades run through the catalog: Excellent, Native-like, Playable, and Experimental. A game can also carry a 6DOF tag, meaning six degrees of freedom, meaning you can lean around a corner and step sideways rather than swivel your head from a fixed anchor point. That distinction decides whether a mod is worth installing more often than any other single factor, and most mod lists do not surface it at all.

Cyberpunk 2077 shows two PCVR options and lands on Excellent. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt also shows two, and the graded one lands on Experimental. Monster Hunter Wilds, a single REFramework conversion, gets Experimental as well. Nobody is pretending those are finished, which is the refreshing part.

    Which frameworks it covers

The catalog sorts mods by the machinery underneath them, which is the right way to organize this. UEVR, praydog’s universal injector for Unreal Engine games, gets its own tag and shows up on entries like Palworld and Ready or Not. REFramework covers Capcom’s RE Engine titles, so Resident Evil 4, Village, and Street Fighter 6 all route through it. Luke Ross R.E.A.L. mods appear on Red Dead Redemption 2 and Dead Space. UUVR handles Unity games. Anything hand-built for one title is simply flagged as a dedicated VR mod.

There is also a separate Built-in VR section for flat PC games that already ship a VR mode with no mod required, which is where VRChat, War Thunder, Elite Dangerous, Phasmophobia, and Assetto Corsa sit. Worth checking that list first. You may already own the thing you were about to go modding.

    How to actually use it

Start at the Steam library checker. You point it at your own library and it tells you which games you already own have a VR path, which is a far better entry point than browsing 1,504 entries cold. From there, the mod catalog and the frameworks page let you filter by engine or by quality label.

Read the guides section before you install anything. Injector-based mods are per-game fiddly by nature, and a UEVR profile that works perfectly for one Unreal title will need different settings for the next. Grab the tools from their own sources: UEVR releases on GitHub and REFramework releases. PCVR Central states plainly that it never rehosts mod files and that every download link points at the creator’s own page, which is the correct posture and one a lot of mod aggregators have never bothered to adopt.

Two expectations to set. All of this requires you to own the game on your own account, since a mod patches a copy you already have and nothing here distributes game content. And “Experimental” is an honest warning rather than a soft one, so treat it as a project rather than an install-and-play evening. Skip injectors entirely on anything with competitive anti-cheat.

Missing entries go through a curated submission form. Given how fast this corner moves, the freshness dates will be the thing that decides whether the catalog stays useful or turns into one more stale spreadsheet. For now it is the cleanest map of PC VR modding that exists, and VR.org has spent enough of this month writing about individual mods, from WinlatorXR running Half-Life 2 on a Quest 3 to a Mario Kart 64 conversion, to appreciate having somewhere to point people afterward.
