Appointments
Helsinki, Finland
Chris Armes has been officially named the new chief technology officer and member of the executive board of Finland’s government-owned betting agency Veikkaus.
Armes joins the company from High5Games, where he was responsible for the company’s technology and operational execution in the B2B and B2C markets.
Previous to that, he has held technology leadership positions at Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) and Scientific Games Digital, where he led the integration following the acquisition of NYX Gaming Group.
“We are very pleased to have Chris join Veikkaus’ management team,” said Veikkaus CEO Olli Sarekoski. “His extensive experience in revamping and leading igaming platforms in highly regulated international markets will be invaluable to us as we continue to develop a first-class customer experience and technological innovations.
“Chris’ strong commitment to responsible gaming and information security fits well with our values, and he brings extensive international gaming industry experience to our team.”
Growth through gaming technology
“I am excited to join Veikkaus, an ambitious and forward-looking company that is at an important stage in the opening up of the Finnish market and the progress of internationalisation, said Armes.
“I look forward to working with the skilled team in Helsinki. The goal is to support the next phase of technology-driven growth and provide players with competitive, scalable and secure digital platforms.”
Last week it was announced that Veikkaus’ deputy CEO, Velipekka Nummikoski, will be leaving the company at the end of August.
