Erik Estrada may be 77, but the CHiPS star looks ageless!
The beloved actor rose to superstardom as Frank “Ponch” Poncherello on the American crime drama series CHiPS, which followed Ponch and his partner Jon (played by Larry Wilcox) as they worked as motorcycle officers in the California Highway Patrol. While he’s not frequently spotted wearing the iconic knee-high leather boots and tan uniform these days, Estrada is still known for being a fan favorite wherever he goes. Pictured alongside Erin Murphy, who was just a baby when she took on the role of Tabitha Stephens on Bewitched, the TV icon looks more youthful than ever.
“Who remembers CHiPS? On the road with Erik Estrada! ❤️ Great American Road Rally coming to the CW this fall,” Murphy captioned her sweet selfie with Estrada.
Estrada Looks Ageless
During a recent appearance at Tucson Comic-Con in 2025, Estrada slid back into his classic character, which sent fans into a fury.
“Let me see your license and registration!” the legendary actor joked while talking to guests. But it was also the fact that Estrada looked incredible that had fans and followers wowed.
“Damn. This dude ever age. Keep it up,” one commenter said.
“He looks amazing,” someone else said.
“He’s still handsome,” someone else chimed in.
However, messages of Estrada’s kindness were also shared.
“Nice man, met him once,” another commenter joined in. “He was in a hurry to leave, got in his car, and as I walked away, he hopped out and asked if I wanted to get a picture signed. I told him yes, but I understood that he was busy. His response? I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for my fans.”
What Else is Erik Estrada Up to These Days?
Estrada completed the second season of his faith-based home improvement show, Divine Renovation, in 2024. But he also fulfilled a childhood dream of working in law enforcement when he began working the late-night shift at the Muncie Police Department in 2008, Fox News Digital previously reported.
“For three years. I stayed with them,” Estrada said. “And then I say, ‘You know what? I’m too old to be pulling cars over at night, going in the bars, knocking on doors during domestic disturbance calls and doing all this at my age.”
However, he didn’t stop there. Estrada also joined the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office as a full-time sheriff and ICAC, where he worked undercover for eight years using the internet and online technology to catch child sexual predators, he told FOX.
These days, he’s taking this a bit slower. At 77, Estrada is finally enjoying a quieter life.
