Everyone who shops vintage has a reason why.
“I just feel like there was a lot more quality,” said Dana Clair, a Reno Antique Faire vendor.
“Always interested in some vintage t-shirts,” said Reno resident Johnny Staka.
“Part of the reason I get into it is just the sustainability,” said Nathan, a Reno Antique Faire vendor.
And on Sunday, northern Nevadans had plenty of options to choose from along Virginia Street.
The Reno Antique Faire was back, featuring 150 antique and vintage vendors, and some local food and drink trucks.
It runs on the third Sunday of every month, April through November.
Clair and her husband said they go overseas to stock their shop.
“We procure everything for the most part from overseas, from France and Italy, and then also we do estate sales here locally… We bring things back that we think people would enjoy and try to save it from withering away somewhere,” said Clair.
And a few tents down, Nathan said he offers up pieces from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, with good reason.
“The reason I love this stuff is that it’s built to last. The stuff was made by hand, by a worker, someone being paid fairly back in the day, and it’s made with this pride that it was made in the U. S., and with that being said, it should last you super long,” Nathan said.
