Vt. (WCAX) – The Monsters rebounded from a game 1 rout with excellent defense, shutting out New Britain in game 2 Saturday, and allowing their lone run to force one final game for the series and season
The 1-0 final in game 2 sets up a season finale Game 3 with home field advantage as the best-of-three FCBL championship series between the Vermont Lake Monsters and the New Britain Bees gets underway on Sunday at Centennial Field at 1:00 p.m. The originally scheduled time was moved up by the Futures League based on increasing chances of rain in Sunday evening’s forecast.
The earlier pitch time means the least chance for rain, with forecasts pointing to the best weather in Burlington from noon until 6:00 p.m., meaning a dry ballpark for the final contest and great conditions to watch this final game for fans. Get the First Alert Forecast here.
Sunday’s game will be broadcast live on WCAX sister station WYCI and simulcast over the air on channel 3.6 on 3 News Now in Vermont.

The Lake Monsters captured the regular-season title while the Bees finished second in the standings.
Regardless of who wins, there will be a new FCBL champion in 2026. The Lake Monsters’ last Championship victory was in 2021.
Through game 2, the championship series is tied 1-1 between the Bees and Lake Monsters.
