Ill. (WGN) – Let the fun begin at Donald E. Stevens Convention Center in Rosemont!
Friday marked Day 1 of Fan Expo Chicago, a convention celebrating all things pop culture. Whether you love Sci-Fi, gaming, anime or fantasy, it’s all being celebrated this weekend.
Officials said it’s estimated 75,000 thousand people each day will attend Fan Expo Chicago. For those who can’t make it, there is a stream offered by AC Pop Comics.
“We create exclusive custom comic book covers for Marvel and DC and independent comic books from various artists that are unique, unlimited and rare, and allows people to collect these items,” Michael Potthoff of AC Pop Comics said.

The artists themselves treat the special weekend as an opportunity to engage with their fans.
“These are real people making things. This isn’t AI. This is a human being. This is HI, a human intelligence,” cover artist Clayton Crain said.
The convention also features plenty of food, drink and delicious confections.
Fan Expo Chicago serves as a place where people enter a different universe and return back to Earth all in the same day.
The convention will also be packed with star power with folks such as Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Kurt Russell and the cast from Lord of the Rings and The Goonies scheduled to attend.
