Got a few hundred K’s lying around? A one-of-a-kind Victor Wembanyama card and a few other rare Spurs collectibles could be yours if you score the winning bid.
Heritage Auctions will drop the gavel on three generations of Spurs stars for its Summer Platinum Night Sports Auction. The auction closes Aug. 23 with already more than $37.8 million in bids.
The top of the Spurs heap is a 2024 Panini One and One Victor Wembanyama (Platinum Encased-Logoman) #LM-WEM – #’d 1/1. The singular card features an NBA game-worn logo patch, considered the grandest grail in modern basketball card collecting.
The auction description reads in part: “The combination of a true one-of-one print run, the instantly recognizable NBA Logoman patch, and one of the most celebrated young players ever to enter the league creates an extraordinary collectible with immense long-term significance. As a Platinum Encased issue from Panini One and One, this card stands among the most important Wembanyama memorabilia cards produced and represents the pinnacle of modern basketball collecting.”

This one could make the record books. In May, a pristine Wembanyama 1-of-1 numbered 2023-24 Panini Prizm Black parallel card reportedly sold for $5.11 million in a private sale. The next highest-selling Wemby cards have netted $1.44 million and $860,000.
The Heritage Auctions one-of-one Wembanyama card has an estimated value of $250,000 and up. Its current bid is $140,000 as of Thursday early afternoon. The auction ends 10 p.m. Aug. 21.
Following, or in this case preceding, one Spurs great with another is a 1997 SkyBox Metal Universe Tim Duncan (Precious Metal Gems-Emerald) Rookie #66 BGS NM-MT 8 – #’d 004/100.
The emerald parallel is one of only 10 cards made and is considered the crown jewel of Duncan card collections. Per the auction description, it’s “one of the most important and desirable rookie cards of the modern era, combining Duncan’s debut-season card with one of the hobby’s most legendary parallel designs. The Precious Metal Gems series revolutionized collecting in the late 1990s and remains a benchmark for rarity, innovation, and long-term collector demand.”

Last year, an emerald Duncan card in almost the same near-mint to mint condition sold at auction for $228,000. The card on the Heritage Auctions block has an estimated value of $250,000. Its current bid is $110,000 as of early afternoon Thursday. The auction ends 10 p.m. Aug. 21.
Rounding out the multi-generational Spurs collectibles is an Early 1980s George Gervin Game Worn San Antonio Spurs Jersey, MEARS A10.
Flawless as an Iceman finger-roll, the Gervin home whites carry a rare A10 grade, the highest rating given to game-worm memorabilia for condition and authentication. The white mesh jersey bears number 44 on both sides, with the Spurs logo on the front and Gervin’s last name on the back. Its tail tags include the “Wilson 38” label and “Long” flap tag.
A similar ’80s-ear Gervin jersey sold for nearly $30,000. The Gervin jersey at Heritage Auctions has an estimated value of $15,000 and up. Its current bid is $10,000 as of early afternoon Thursday. The auction ends Aug. 23.
