— In less than two weeks comic book lovers are expected to attend Soda City Comic Con in Columbia
Local designer Brianna Etheridge offers some tips for those trying to figure out what to wear.
This last-minute stitch is making sure this spiderman costume is ready to swing into any comic con event.
Honestly, I wouldn’t spend a whole lot of money on buying a costume unless that’s something there you’re into, see it as an investment. I’m big on upcycling. Start with something that is already made and build from that.
Brianna Etheridge has been sewing since she was 8-years-old and has spent the last decade as the owner of Bri L Designs.
She says you don’t have to break the bank to be seen at comic con.
That’s because Fanatics can spend hundreds of dollars looking for the right fit.
For example look at the pieces look at your characters see what they’re wearing. Sometimes you’ll find clothes at thrift stores that look exactly like your character the clothes your character is wearing.
Comic conventions or comic con’s have taken the nation by storm.
The most popular con being in San Diego pumping in hundreds of millions of dollars into that region’s economy.

Many comic lovers are finding seamstresses like her to make their costume pop.
One customer bringing in an already made popular costume for some minor touches.
He originally came to me to get it fitted and we added some other details like adding zippers so he could free his hands if he needs to.
