The Pdobq Switch Dock Switch Docking Station is a travel-sized replacement for the plastic dock that came with your Switch, and it fits in a jacket pocket instead of taking up half a bag. Three ports sit on it, an HDMI 2.0 output, a USB 3.0 port, and a USB-C port for charging. Video goes out at up to 4K at 60Hz depending on what you plug into it. The dock works with the original Switch, the Switch 2, and the Switch OLED, and it also handles a Steam Deck, a phone, or a laptop with USB-C video output.

An easy alternate dock to play your Switch on a second TV
The dock that Nintendo puts in the box is bulky, and hauling it to a friend’s house or a hotel means unplugging everything and packing a brick with cables hanging off it. This one does the same job in something roughly the size of a deck of cards. You plug a wall charger into the USB-C port, run an HDMI cable from the dock to the TV, then connect the dock to the Switch and wait a few seconds for the picture to come up.
Which resolution you get depends on the console. For the Switch and the Switch OLED, the output is 1080p at 60Hz, which is what those consoles put out anyway. A Switch 2 or a USB-C laptop or tablet can push 4K at 60Hz through the HDMI 2.0 port. Steam Deck owners should know that the Deck maxes out at 1080p through this dock rather than 4K.
There’s a USB 3.0 port available for whatever you’d like to plug in alongside the console, such as a wired controller, a keyboard, or a hard drive. Since pass-through charging happens through the USB-C port at the same time, this means your console will be charging while you play on your TV instead of being depleted during a session.
Pdobq uses a smart chip in the dock to ensure the safety of the console, in order to avoid the type of damage that was caused by some other third-party docks, causing consoles to be bricked. Pdobq does advise you to use the official Nintendo charger or one of theirs, because it has been found most often that chargers were too weak to properly power a dock.
Getting the Pdobq Switch Dock Switch Docking Station for $16 rather than $19 is not a huge saving in dollar terms, though a spare dock for a second TV or a travel bag costs less here than a single game does. Note that the dock does not work with the Switch Lite, which has no video output at all.
