    The Milwaukee Brewers head back to California for their second consecutive road trip on the West Coast.

    The Brewers finished 3-3 in their six games away from home against the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Angels, but having a similar stretch this week would be a much more notable feat.

    The Brewers face both the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers over the next seven games. While the series with the back-to-back World Series champion Dodgers will draw plenty of national interest later this week, the Padres are playing well and are back in the playoff chase, just one game out of the final wild-card spot.

    As usual, Padres general manager A.J. Preller was active at the trade deadline, picking up starting pitchers Casey Mize and Robbie Ray. Both will take the mound in the series.

    The Brewers and Padres are 7-3 in their last 10 games with Milwaukee surging ahead of the Dodgers for the best record in the National League with 74 wins after a 5-2 homestand. Jackson Chourio hit four home runs over the week and has 17 this season.

    Logan Henderson will pitch the opening game of the series and will likely throw twice this week. In his last four starts, Henderson is 3-0 with a 2.08 ERA, a 0.78 WHIP and 28 strikeouts in 21⅔ innings.
