    Key Points

    • Isla Fisher is opening up about her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen.

    • “I would say that I’m much stronger than I thought I was,” Fisher said.

    • Fisher and Cohen were married in 2010. They separated in 2023, divorced in 2025 and share three children.

Isla Fisher is happy in her single era.

The Australian actress and author was long one half of one of Hollywood’s most powerful super couples. But she separated from Boratstar Sacha Baron Cohenafter 13 years of marriage in 2023, and the pair finalized their divorce in 2025.

A year into singlehood after two-and-a-half decades with the British funnyman (they met at a party in Sydney in 2001), Fisher is opening up about the experience that she’s otherwise kept to herself.

“I would say that I’m much stronger than I thought I was,” she told E! News at the Spa Weekend premiere in Las Vegas on Aug. 7.

Keeping with the theme of the film, which sees the actress team up with Anna Faris, Michelle Buteau, and Leslie Mann for a wacky, antic-fueled girls getaway at a luxury resort, Fisher said that it was “my friendships, my female friendships [that] have really been instrumental to me discovering or recovering that strength. And so I’m incredibly grateful.”

Entertainment Weeklyhas reached out to a representative for Fisher for comment.

Cohen recalled meeting Fisher at the 2001 party in a 2020 interview with New York Times.

“She was hilarious. We were at a very pretentious party, and me and her bonded over taking the mick out of the other people in the party. I knew instantly. I don’t know if she did,” he recalled.

Fisher certainly did. Three years later they were engaged, and they welcomed their first child, a daughter, Olive, in 2007. The couple married in 2010 and now share three children.

“We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change,” the couple jointly shared on Instagram at the time. “We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”

In Feb. 2025, Fisher broke her silence on the break-up. “It’s the most difficult thing that I’ve been through, and I’ve learnt so much about myself in the process,” she said. “I never imagined my family being separated, but we are committed and loving parents.”
