Aug. 10 (UPI) — Netflix is sharing new details about its upcoming series The Sticks.
The streaming service announced new cast members and shared first-look photos for the show Monday.
The Sticks is a teen hockey drama starring Michelle Monaghan as Harper Sullivan, a grieving widow who steps up as coach of a small-town Minnesota high school hockey team after her husband’s death.
Other cast members include Scott Bakula as Coach Brody Hansen, Logan Marshall-Green as Coach Sully and Alex MacIsaac as Emma Boone, along with Emilie Bierre, Shai Chase, Josh Macqueen, Costa D’Angelo, Carter Shimp, Ethan Holder and Isaac Arellanes.
The Sticks is created by Nick Naveda, with Bridget Bedard as showrunner and executive producer.
“The Sticks is about a lot of things. Hockey, family, love, loss, class, and coming of all ages. But above all, it’s a story about community and the importance of taking care of one another. Seeing this terrific cast of actors bring their characters to life with such curiosity, empathy, and tenderness has been incredibly moving to watch, and I can’t wait for the world to meet the people of South Dorothy,” Naveda told Netflix’s Tudum.
Shawn Levy, Dan Levine and Robert Atwood also serve as executive producers.
The Sticks will premiere on Netflix in 2027.
