Ted Lasso said goodbye to fans over three years ago, leaving many wondering if we’d ever see that loveable mustachioed soccer coach again. Well, the answer to that question is a resounding yes, as Apple TV‘s Emmy-winning comedy is back with new episodes.

In season 4, Coach Lasso returns to the pitch, but this time around, he’s enlisted to help his friends in Richmond by mentoring a second-division women’s soccer league. Say hello to the Lady Greyhounds.

Show cocreator and star Jason Sudeikis reprises his role alongside series regulars Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift. Newcomers joining the season 4 shenanigans are Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely.

With three more seasons of Ted Lasso potentially in the works, it seems the saga of Apple TV’s hit comedy is far from over.

Read on for more information about how to watch the new season of Ted Lasso and how a VPN can help.

When do new episodes of Ted Lasso come out?

Episode 2 of the fourth season of Ted Lasso premieres on Wednesday, Aug 12 on Apple TV. New episodes will drop weekly until the finale, which is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 7.

It’s worth noting that while not guaranteed, Apple TV regularly drops new episodes of its shows at 9 p.m. ET the night before their scheduled premieres. That, and sometimes, the streamer likes to surprise audiences by dropping highly anticipated episodes early. We’ll keep an eye out and update this accordingly if that happens.

Here’s the complete episode release schedule for Ted Lasso, season 4:

    Episode 1: Home – Aug. 5
Episode 2: Curiouser and Curiouser! – Aug. 12
    Episode 3: Richmond’s Got Talent – Aug. 19
    Episode 4: Greyhound’s Day Off – Aug. 26
Episode 5: Riches of Embarrassment – Sept. 2
Episode 6: Don’t Jump Around Much Anymore – Sept. 9
    Episode 7: TBD – Sept. 16
    Episode 8: TBD – Sept. 23
    Episode 9: TBD – Sept. 30
    Episode 10: TBD – Oct. 7

How to watch Ted Lasso season 4

To watch Ted Lasso, you’ll need a subscription to Apple TV. The service costs $13 a month after a seven-day free trial. Apple TV comes included in an Apple One subscription, which includes Apple Music, Apple Arcade and iCloud storage, starting at $20 a month.

If you’re interested in bundles to save some dough, you can find Apple TV bundled with Peacock for $15 a month. Comcast Xfinity customers can take advantage of the service’s StreamSaver bundle, which packages Apple TV with Netflix and Peacock.

While not a bundle, Apple TV is now available as an add-on subscription through Prime Video.

What happened in Ted Lasso season 3?

The gang got back together for some Kansas City BBQ. Apple TV

Ted Lasso’s third season was, in short, a lot. This run of 10 episodes saw the series expand its regular runtime to much longer episodes, as the storylines and characters on the show had drastically expanded since its inaugural season.

Instead of going into every little detail, let’s stick with the broad strokes that connect to season 4:

    • After a season-long struggle, which saw former kit man Nate pivot to the dark side by working for their rivals, West Ham, as assistant coach, AFC Richmond climbed its way back into the Premier League. The Greyhounds didn’t ultimately win the championship, but they did beat West Ham and were celebrated for it.
    • Rebecca didn’t end up selling the team, which she had been considering throughout the season. Instead, she sold 49% of the shares to Richmond’s fans, to give them a sense of ownership over the team.
    • Rebecca finally got her ex-husband Rupert out of her life. The disappearance of his sinister influence opened the door to new love with a Dutch pilot named Matthijs, with whom she had a one-night stand in Amsterdam. The season ended with her embracing her new role as a sorta stepmother to his daughter, Jelka.
    • Roy and Keeley’s relationship status was all over the map. The season began with them broken up, only to see them somewhat rekindle their romance before Roy’s paranoia about Jamie’s role in Keeley’s life led to a fight between the two men. In the end, Keeley decided she didn’t want to be involved with either man and the season ended with the on-again, off-again couple, well, off again.
    • The most important plot point is Ted’s decision to quit as coach of AFC Richmond and return home to Kansas City to be with his son. The show briefly touched on Ted’s father issues. When he learned how much his boy missed him, he returned to the States to put his family first, even if that meant accepting that his ex-wife, Michelle, had moved on. Three years later, this is where Ted Lasso is living when Rebecca and company ask him to help with the women’s soccer league.

How to watch Ted Lasso season 4 with a VPN

If you’re traveling abroad and want to watch the movie while away from home, a VPN can help enhance your privacy and security when streaming.

It encrypts your traffic and prevents your internet service provider from throttling your speeds. Additionally, it can be helpful when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks while traveling, providing an extra layer of protection for your devices and logins. VPNs are legal in many countries, including the US and Canada, and can be used for legitimate purposes such as improving online privacy and security.

However, some streaming services may have policies that restrict VPN use for accessing region-specific content. If you’re considering a VPN for streaming, check the platform’s terms of service to ensure compliance.

If you choose to use a VPN, follow the provider’s installation instructions to ensure you’re connected securely and in compliance with applicable laws and service agreements. Some streaming platforms may block access when a VPN is detected, so verifying if your streaming subscription allows VPN use is crucial.
