Ravi Kishan has found himself at the centre of a meme storm, and instead of trying to escape it, the actor-politician is enjoying every bit of it. Old clips, new videos, dramatic expressions and his trademark way of speaking have suddenly become internet gold, especially among Gen Z users.
What started with clips such as “Jaldi The Late” and “Home From Work” has now grown into a much bigger trend, with the viral “Money follows my brother” clip adding fresh fuel. Kishan says he is not only aware of the memes but is also actively watching them and liking posts.
From old videos to a new internet life
The 57-year-old actor believes the online trend has brought him an audience that may not have known much about him earlier.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Kishan described the sudden popularity as something completely unexpected, “something entirely different is happening, this is madness.”
He linked the timing to the month of Shravan and his faith in Mahadev. Kishan also pointed out that his vow of silence had become unexpectedly popular.
He said such a phenomenon had not happened before in this way for an actor or politician in the country.
Even official handles joined the fun
Kishan says the most interesting part of the trend is that it did not appear to be manufactured. The memes spread on their own, and eventually even official social media accounts started participating.
The BJP handle, Delhi Police and the Maharashtra government have all joined the meme trend.
“The best part is that this is happening organically,” Kishan said.
He added that he has personally been following the posts and even dropping likes on them.
Gen Z has a new Ravi Kishan
According to Kishan, the biggest surprise has been seeing younger internet users embrace him. “Gen Z has accepted me as their own.”
He said people who had not discovered him earlier now want to watch more of his work and know more about him. Kishan thanked Gen Z users for the creativity behind the memes and said he salutes their imagination.
The internet has also given him some rather unusual new names. Social media users have called him “Lord Ravi.”
Why people are connecting with him
Kishan believes the answer lies in his unfiltered personality. He said people appreciate seeing someone who does not pretend to be perfect.
“They love real people; they connect with my imperfections.”
He added that everyone makes mistakes, including him, and said he accepts that openly. According to Kishan, he speaks from the heart, and audiences are responding to that honesty.
His family is surprised too
The sudden internet fame has not only surprised Kishan. His family is also trying to understand the scale of the craze.
He said his 85-year-old mother and other family members are “just speechless.” He added that their prayers have increased, while his faith in Mahadev gives him the inner strength to remain peaceful.
