N.Y. — The Clarissa Street Legacy is hosting two community events on Thursday, Aug. 6 offering the media and the public a preview of the new Clarissa Street Legacy Comic Book Project
Youth creators and artists will introduce original comic <a href="https://comicvibe.com/disney-tiktok-strike-deal-to-let-creators-use-disney-characters-in-videos/” title=”Disney, TikTok strike deal to let creators use Disney characters in videos”>characters inspired by Clarissa Street at the comic book preview. Following that, members of the Clarissa Street Legacy Committee will join “The Everyday People Show with Radical Rashad” for a live radio broadcast.
The show will give listeners an inside look into the comic book project and will preview the 28th Annual Clarissa Street Reunion on Saturday, Aug. 15.
When & where
The comic book preview will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at 740 University Ave. and the Clarissa Street Reunion Radio Takeover will follow from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at 95 Mt. Read Blvd.
28th Annual Clarissa Street Reunion event
The annual event celebrates the neighborhood that was a hub of Black-owned businesses and music in the 1950s.
Community members can attend the reunion event from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15 on Clarissa St. The reunion will feature a full day of food. Attendees can also experience live music on three stages.
