Back in June, Nintendo held one of its annual Nintendo Direct broadcasts for thousands of gamers, clueing them in on all the games coming soon to both the Switch and Switch 2.
There were over two dozen major video game releases announced at that event, including the “Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” remake and “Kingdom Hearts 4” for the Switch 2. However, neither of these games has an exact release date yet.
But you can check out the top five games coming later this year that have release dates exclusively on Nintendo consoles.
‘Kingdom Hearts’
If you’re a Switch 2 player, you’re in luck, because one of the most beloved game series is about to become available on Nintendo Switch consoles. “Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX” is the essential remastered collection of the “Kingdom Hearts” franchise where you can wield your Keyblade and save the various Disney worlds from impending darkness.
Release Date: Oct. 8.
‘Final Fantasy Resonance’
Players will return to the pixel-art world of Final Fantasy as they travel with companions bound by fate, call on Visions to aid them in battle, and uncover the truth behind a force that threatens to bring everything to ruin. This is the first installment to join the HD-2D lineup, and it delivers a visually striking experience that feels both nostalgic and new.
Release Date: Oct. 22.
‘Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave’
Enter the Heroic Games when worthy fighters from all over have come to Dagsion, Dagdan Empire’s capital city, to compete for a chance to win a single wish. However, there are four heroes tied to the fate of the world that are also competing in hopes of having their wishes granted.
Release Date: Sept. 17.
‘Nintendo Switch Sports Resort’
If you loved Wii Sports Resort back in the day, you’re in luck because it’s returning in a whole new way on the Switch 2. Play more than 12 different sports using intuitive motion controls that allow you to gently swing a tennis racket, pull back and aim a bow and arrow or throw a right hook in boxing. Create and customize your own Mii character and jump offline — or online — to play “Nintendo Switch Sports Resort.”
Release Date: Oct. 22.
‘Onimusha: Way of the Sword’
Players will need to prepare to fight through bloodbaths of intense swordplay action as they explore the historic Japanese capital of Edo-era Kyoto, which has been twisted by malevolent clouds of Malice, and every stage is cloaked in mystery, danger and intrigue.
Release Date: Sept. 25.
