Springfield Returns to Fortnite Reload
The Simpsons have returned to Fortnite, bringing Springfield, new gameplay mechanics, returning loot, and a Simpsonified John Wick reward to Reload.
Springfield is now available in Reload with an increased 50-player capacity, making matches busier than the mode’s usual 40-player format. John Wick and Homer can be found as NPCs on Starter Island, while Moe appears at the new The Confidential POI.
The Confidential is a John Wick-inspired neutral zone where players are expected to keep their weapons holstered.
- Players receive passive healing.
- Proximity chat is enabled.
- Combat is prohibited.
- Attacking another player makes you Excommunicado.
- Only one player can be Excommunicado at a time.
- The marked player gains unlimited stamina and faster reload speeds.
- Eliminating the Excommunicado player awards 1,500 Gold and improved loot.
The area gives players somewhere to heal and communicate, but anyone who breaks the rules becomes a high-value target for the rest of the lobby.
Players who own the Battle Pass can complete the new John Wick Reload quests to unlock a Simpsonified John Wick Outfit as a bonus reward.
The quests became available alongside the update on July 30 and include objectives connected to Reload, The Confidential, Sprites, and combat.
Reload Portable Extractor and John Wick Sprite
The update also introduces the Reload Portable Extractor, a new gadget that can pull out a John Wick Sprite.
The Sprite reveals nearby enemies to the player and their squad, providing useful information during fights and rotations. The John Wick Sprite is exclusive to Reload and is the first Sprite tied directly to the mode.
Several items from the original Springfield season have returned:
- Super Squishee
- Cobalt Slingshot
- Mr. Blasty
- Krusty’s Mr. Blasty
- Five-Gun
- Deodorant Applicator
- Blinky Fish
- Krusty Burger
- Cartoon Chainsaw
The Tactical Assault Rifle has also been added to the Reload loot pool.
Previously opened chests can now refill with loot after enough time passes, giving players another reason to revisit locations later in a match.
Solo players can also earn back reboots by dealing damage before their reboot window expires.
Springfield launched as the only available Reload map. Beginning August 3, Elite Stronghold and Slurp Rush return and join Springfield in the regular map rotation.
