PlayStation Plus users can now pick up a free trial for a GOTY-nominated title which launched in 2025.

Dispatch was one of 2025’s most popular games, scooping up plenty of award nominations and wins and becoming a darling of the adventure game genre.

If you were on the fence about playing it, though, you now pick up a free trial for the game if you’re subscribed to PlayStation Plus’ most expensive tier.

The free trial for Dispatch runs for two hours, which should give you enough time to play through the first episode, as well as see a decent amount of the second one.

With a total of eight episodes, though, you’ll have to fork out for the full game to see the story through to its conclusion.

Dispatch was a surprise hit when we played it last year

The blurb on Dispatch reads: “Dispatch is a superhero workplace comedy where choices matter. Manage a dysfunctional team of misfit heroes and strategise who to send to emergencies around the city, all while balancing office politics, personal relationships, and your own quest to become a hero.”

In our own Dispatch review, GAMINGbible’s Kate wrote that “Dispatchhas defied odds and easily is one of the most immersive games I’ve played. All I’ll say about the story is that it is incredible. I gasped on several occasions and was completely satisfied with the ending. My choices? Not so much, but that’s only left me eager to run through it all again.”

The game was nominated for many awards at the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026. At The Game Awards 2025, it was nominated for Best Debut Indie Game and Players’ Voice, but didn’t win either category.

On the other hand, it scooped up awards at the NAVGTR Awards and British Academy Games Awards, winning Original Adventure Game and Writing in a Comedy at the former, while winning Best Animation and Audio Achievement at the latter.

Several actors also won awards for their performances as well, with Aaron Paul winning Lead Performance in a Comedy and Matthew Mercer winning Supporting Performance in a Comedy at the NAVGTR Awards, and Jeffrey Wright winning Performer in a Supporting Role at the BAFTAs.

The game was in a spot of controversy earlier this year when, upon the game’s launch in January, it was learned that certain scenes in the game, which featured nudity, sexual content and crude gestures, were censored by default, and were unable to be disabled in the game options.

Developer AdHoc Studio claimed at the time that this was due to content criteria set out by Nintendo, adding that “core gameplay and narrative experience remain(ed) identical to the original release”.

Nintendo later clarified that it did not change the game’s content to meet any platform requirements, instead explaining that it requires third-party developers to carry ratings from independent rating organisations to be published on the Nintendo eShop.
