As Assam continues to battle severe floods triggered by relentless rainfall, actor Kartik Aaryan has contributed Rs 1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked the actor for his generous gesture, saying the timely support would aid relief efforts and help people affected by the ongoing crisis.

The contribution comes as several parts of Assam continue to face heavy rainfall, with authorities warning of more rain over the next few days. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked the actor for his generous support. Calling the contribution “heartening,” the Chief Minister said it would help people affected by the floods.
“Truly heartened by your generous contribution, @TheAaryanKartik. Your support will go a long way in helping the people of Assam,” CM Sarma wrote on X.
The Chief Minister also thanked the actor for his timely support and appreciated his contribution to the state’s relief efforts.
“Gratitude to actor @TheAaryanKartik for his generous contribution of Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. HCM Dr. @himantabiswa appreciated his commendable gesture and timely support toward state relief measures,” the post read.
Other celebs who extended help
Apart from Kartik, several other celebrities have also stepped forward to support the flood-hit state. Alia Bhatt urged immediate relief for Assam, highlighting the loss of lives and the displacement of lakhs of people. She said the state needs urgent assistance as well as long-term support.
Salman Khan has partnered with SKFC Assam and Being Human to support flood-affected families in the state. The first phase of the initiative includes food, water, and essential supplies, while ration kits, medicines, and the rebuilding of schools and hospitals will follow.
Actor Ayushmann Khurrana and his wife, author-filmmaker Tahira Kashyap, have also extended a helping hand to people affected by the devastating floods.
About the Assam floods
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms, at isolated places across Assam and neighbouring states from July 30 to August 1.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has asked people to stay alert and follow official weather advisories. It has also urged residents to keep track of weather updates through its official website and social media platforms and follow instructions issued by local authorities.
