Netflix has tapped Morgan Spector (“The Gilded Age”) to star in its upcoming adaptation of The Secret of Secrets as the lead character of Robert Langdon.
The 2025 novel by Dan Brown, who will serve as executive producer on the series, is the sixth to feature the Langdon character, a Harvard professor and symbologist often recruited to solve complicated mysteries that intersect science and spirituality.
In TheSecret of Secrets, Langdon races against ancient forces and time to rescue a missing scientist and her groundbreaking manuscript whose discoveries have the power to forever change humanity’s understanding of the mind.
Previous adaptations have covered the first four Langdon novels, including a film trilogy starring Tom Hanks — 2006’s The Da Vinci Code,2009’s Angels & Demons and 2016’s Inferno — and the 2021 miniseries The Lost Symbol on Peacock. The fifth novel, 2017’s Origins, has not yet been slated for an adaptation.

Other executive producers include Emma Forman for Genre-Arts, and Zoe Robyn.
The confirmation of Spector’s casting has fueled speculation that his real-life wife, actress Rebecca Hall, will play Katherine Solomon, Langdon’s girlfriend.
