Cobra Commander takes inspiration from the 1987 O-Ring 3 3’4″ figure, with some new elements given to the 6″ line. This is one of the most memorable variations of that line, and it’s also the first time a character’s battle armor has been brought into this new modern line. It includes a backpack and submachine gun inspired by his vintage toys, as well as some new accessories such as an iguana, interchangeable hands, and a new head sculpt featuring reptilian eyes.

Cobra Commander is packaged in a window box with the artwork and logo and image on the front, the image on the left side, and an image of the figure on the back, with a photo of the toy and a detailed photo of the iguana and backpack next to it.

Cobra Commander appears in Combat Amor, inspired by the 1987 O-Ring figure, wearing a metallic gray armored suit with red straps on the torso, a red belt, and a holster for a submachine gun. Underneath the sculpted textured blue costume, there are black sleeves and pants under the armor.

His head sculpt wears a helmet and has a cobra logo on his forehead, with the only difference between human and reptilian eyes being the eyes. There is a black tube connected to the mouth and left ear.

Cobra Commander includes two sets of interchangeable hands: a clenched fist, an open grip, and an additional pointy right hand. Also included is a vintage toy-inspired submachine gun that can be stored in a holster, a vintage toy-inspired backpack, and a new iguana with a green, yellow, sculpted back texture and great resemblance.

Comparing him to the retro carded Cobra Commander figure, Hasbro has recently released two of his most popular costumes, but it remains likely that that hooded release will be put on hold, as well as other notable versions of the character such as the Crimson Guard and other versions of him from the ’80s and ’90s.
His articulation includes a ball-jointed head and neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball-jointed hips, ball-jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, and hinged rocker ankles.
Overall, the Cobra Commander is a great product and a great update to this latest 6-inch series. This is one of his most memorable designs, so it’s great to see him branch out into the 6-inch line. This is definitely a great addition and one to have in your collection. Get him now at BigBadToyStore.
