Four of the VTuber scene’s biggest independent creators, AmaLee, Dokibird, Rin Penrose, and Ironmouse, have officially unveiled ” The Wildcard Club ” earlier today, July 27th, a new music-focused collaborative initiative backed by South Korean entertainment giant HYBE, which is known for producing acts such as BTS, SEVENTEEN, KATSEYE(with Geffen Records), and more.

This news was majorly announced by a Dokibird fan account on X (formerly Twitter) under the username @dragoon000bsp, expressing shock at the HYBE backing of the VTuber project.

The project was formally introduced during OffKai Expo: The VTuber Convention, where the four VTubers revealed more details after teasing their collaboration for weeks. During their presentation, the quartet explained that The Wildcard Club isn’t a VTuber agency nor a management company. It’s more of a collaboration platform that helps creators produce original songs, albums, music videos, and future live performances with HYBE’s support.

To clarify further, The Wildcard Club isn’t just a group of the four aforementioned talents. Each founding member of AmaLee, Ironmouse, Dokibird, and Rin Penrose represents a different musical genre as a “Captain,” with Dokibird confirming so far that she’ll be leading the “girl band/punk rock” category.
A major concern for this new VTuber music project is how HYBE will probably control a lot of creative aspects of the project. However, the founding VTuber members so far have emphasized that they and future collaborators will remain as independent VTubers, with HYBE simply providing production rerands, channels, and other similar homegrown assets of the creators are going to be given up
Similarly, it seems that The Wildcard Club’s content is managed under STUDIO TANGRAM, which pushes the promotional content of the initiative. Currently, there are a couple of videos so far teasing the collaboration, showing a trailer, and episodes involving the four founders.
In terms of each of the founders pooling members to every captain’s genre, The Wildcard Club’s applications aren’t auditions, and they will be done through an open call, which will probably be announced in the near future. More information on this is said to be revealed by July 29, 2026 as per the Reddit post that detailsthis new collaborative group backed by HYBE.

Overall, this announcement has generated a new interest in the VTuber sphere, with many fans praising but also fearing HYBE’s involvement. It’s a good sign that virtual creators are finally getting more recognition. However, people are still cautious, pointing to HYBE’s past artist-related controversies and hoping the partnership remains creator-friendly as the founders have described.
With that, The Wildcard Club ushers in a new era for both VTubing and music. As we have four of the industry’s most recognizable indie VTubers at the helm and HYBE providing production backing, the initiative could become one of the most ambitious creator-driven music collaborations the VTuber community has seen to date.
