That’s the hallmark of a truly great fantasy series. Growth never stops. Indeed, Critical Role shows no signs of scaling back, with two animated series, multiple spin-off comics, and even an all-new non-Exandrian setting in Campaign 4. As you may remember from Popverse recently, the popular D&D Actual Play series is expanding within its own organization, with a focus on bringing new faces to the table beyond its core initial cast.
And now it looks like the show is putting its money where its mouth is, tagging three brand new Campaign 4 players to represent the show at this year’s Awesome Con.
This news was announced in a Collider article published on January 22nd. According to the outlet, Critical Role at Awesome Con 2026 will feature newcomers Whitney Moore, Alexander Ward, and Luis Carazo, who are scheduled to perform at the convention in Washington, D.C., on March 14th and 15th. As anyone who has followed the latest campaign knows, these are the characters Tyranny, Octis Taconis, and Azne Nayar, respectively.
But remember, all good fantasy expansions build on previous adventures and adventurers, and Awesome Con 2026’s Critical Role is no exception. Joining Moore, Ward and Carazo are Sam Riegel and Taliesin Jaffe. These two players appeared in the first Exandrian campaign and are currently responsible for Campaign 4 participants Wicander “Wick” Halovar and Borea Lasalia, respectively.
The announcement did not include the date and time of the panel discussion, which is expected to be attended by five key players. That said, we expect sales to pick up just by announcing their presence, so it might be worth getting your tickets now if you want to be sure you’ll get them.
Or in fantasy terms, remember that great adventures always begin before you’re ready.
Critical Role Campaign 4 is currently streaming on the group’s Beacon, YouTube, and Twitch channels.
